The apprenticeship levy is a UK tax on employers which can be used to fund apprenticeship training. In the current tax year it is payable by all employers with an annual pay bill of more than £3 million at a rate of 0.5% of their total pay bill.
Apprenticeships are about gaining real skills and experience in the workplace rather than the classroom. Apprentices are employed and work as part of a real work team with support and guidance from the tutors at Impact Futures, as well as their colleagues within your organisation. This gives the learner great experience while studying and allows the employer to future-proof their workforce, and gain top talent without the need to recruit.
You can access funds for your apprenticeships by creating an apprenticeship account. This is the gateway for employers looking to fund apprenticeships and arrange training. The Digital Apprenticeship Service has been available since January 2017.
You can spend the funds in your digital account towards the cost of training and assessment for your apprentices. Only approved training and assessment providers are to be used when spending the funds in your digital account.
The funds are only available to spend on training and assessment. They can’t be used for any other costs associated with work.
Payments are made monthly and you will be able to see these within your digital account once you have signed up. You can then spend these funds on the same platform towards the cost of training and apprenticeships.
You can use the funds in your digital account towards the cost of training and assessment for your apprentices. Only approved training and assessment providers are to be used when spending the funds in your digital account.
When an employer (like us) pays the apprenticeship levy, there are times when we are left with unspent funds. Fortunately, every levy-paying employer has the option of transferring up to 25% of their annual levy contribution to another employer. The transfer takes place using the online apprenticeship service, and payments are made on a monthly basis to the receiving employer, who can then use these funds towards the cost of training for their own business.
Once The Access Group have introduced you to Impact Futures, it’s Impact Futures who will be responsible for running, administering and supporting with your training programme. All contact regarding the apprenticeship should be sent to Impact Futures.
We have 25% of our annual levy available for our clients, and monies will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
There’s no ulterior motive from us on this: we don’t want anything from you and we’re not getting any financial benefit, we simply want to utilise the apprenticeship levy not only to support our own growth, but also to support our health and social care clients in bridging their skills gaps and building their future leaders.
Yes, absolutely! We want to help ensure all apprentices have the training they need to have long successful careers in care…
