SVQ Assessor – Healthcare (Scotland)

About the role

As a Development Coach you will be responsible for managing a caseload of Learners to deliver a quality learning experience for Social Services Healthcare to L4 SVQs (SCQF Level 9), whilst providing exceptional support to both learners and employers.

You will provide learners clear milestones and targets alongside twice monthly teaching sessions (Virtual interactive sessions) as well as reviewing their progress every to support their timely progression to ensure completion of learning on a bi-weekly basis. Observation of Practice will also be required for the delivery of the SVQ suite.

You will support each learner’s maths and English journey including functional skills if required and support any additional learning needs, they may have.

You will ensure all required records are completed to meet SSSC and SQA Requirements.

The role will involve:

  • Lead a caseload of learners to support them to achieve their qualification covering all areas of knowledge, skills, and behaviours as well as any additional requirements
  • Complete robust and in-depth tripartite reviews (every 4 weeks) with the learner and line manager/mentor to discuss progress across all elements
  • Deliver teaching and learning inline with the delivery model for each qualifications, either face to face or via appropriate online systems and software
  • Identify and support learners with additional learning needs and successfully use the neurodiversity platform Cognassist to support this, completing any required paperwork

About you

You will:

  • Knowledge & experience in the delivery of SVQs
  • Occupational competency and relevant qualifications in the SVQs in which you will be delivering
  • Knowledge of SQA relevant requirements and SSSC
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality and GDPR
  • Have a full driving license and use of a car with business use insurance
