Instructional Designer

The Role

The purpose of this role is to lead in all aspects of content development to transform our educational resources into interactive learning programs. Key success criteria will be to build on recent improvements and move towards OFSTED ‘Outstanding’.

The role of the Instructional Designer is to manage the planning, design, development, implementation, and delivery strategies of content transformation in partnership with internal and external partners plus key stakeholders. This role will identify and utilise existing and emerging effective practice, technology and evidence and research for generic and industry specific content.

The Instructional Designer will maintain high levels of integrity, promoting the right behaviours within the team and across the whole company putting quality and compliance at the forefront and influencing others to follow these principles.

The role will involve:

  • To lead on all aspects of content development for internal and external stakeholders utilising current and emerging technologies.
  • To design engaging, inclusive and immersive learning content across the provision that provides a return of investment (ROI), this includes rebranding and iterating current content.
  • To redesign existing content to ensure it aligns with the multisensory needs of learners, working closely with the Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Specialist to tailor the materials to meet individual learner requirements.
  • To manage the design and coordination of content development and review, ensuring that review and revision of curricula and instructional practise occurs continuously.

About you

You will:

  • Strong instructional design skills with technical proficiency including high levels of competency and experience of using Articulate and/or other authoring tools and software
  • Experience in e-learning content creation, including building within LMS, content authoring and the creation of supporting Multimedia assets
  • Familiarity with data analysis, statistics, and machine learning concepts - Ability to create content focused on ROI
  • Strong knowledge of OFSTED Education Inspection Framework
  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models
