The level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner apprenticeship standard is a 24-month apprenticeship that will train and support senior professionals in the early years sector to become proactive and influential practitioners, who skillfully lead day-to-day practise at an operational level.
The apprenticeship is an ideal development path for senior early years practitioners such as Room Leaders and Deputy Managers in day nurseries, and those with considerable knowledge and experience in the early years sector. Apprentices may also be an Assistant Manager of a nursery, a Lead Practitioner, an Early Years Coordinator, a Community Nursery Nurse, a Health Play Specialist, a Hospital Play Worker or hold another similar role in an early years setting.
The Childcare Company is delighted to offer this much-anticipated apprenticeship standard, which provides a progression route for senior early years professionals to continue practising and working directly with children under five. The programme will equip learners with the skills, behaviours, and knowledge to become a skilled and effective early years leader while working.
The new apprenticeship offering also provides licence to practise in early years settings, meaning while an ideal next step for early years practitioners, it is also a suitable programme for those with theory-based early years qualifications who are ready to take the next step and become licenced practitioners. Whatever your early years background, apprentices will need to have the autonomy to make decisions and lead others in their role.
Sophie Hayter, Quality Manager at the Childcare Company commented on our latest offering:
“We are thrilled to launch this long-awaited apprenticeship standard at The Childcare Company.
We know that this is an exciting development in the childcare industry – the level 5 Early Years Lead Practitioner provides a recognised qualification for senior and advanced practitioners to work towards where there was previously a gap.
As always The Childcare Company is looking forward to supporting those in the childcare industry to taking their next steps, and in doing so shaping skilled and empathetic lead practitioners.”
The apprenticeship comprises 21 months learning time on the programme including a case study that needs to be completed by the learner before their end-point-assessment.
