Level 5 Coaching Professional: Programme Overview

The Level 5 Coaching Professional qualification is specifically designed to build on existing coaching skills and experience. This creates coaches with an enhanced ability to bring out the very best in the people they serve, and to build long-lasting and sustaining connections.

By the end of the course, learners will be fully equipped with everything needed to take on new responsibilities, and confidently coach professionals at various levels of seniority.

Completing the course earns a Level 5 Coaching certificate, once End-Point Assessment (EPA) is passed.

Programme Introduction

Month 1

CIAG, CPD, and Principles of Professional Coaching

Research and discuss some of the topics you may be learning as part of your overall qualification, utilising the knowledge, skills, behaviours, and duties identified in the coaching professional apprenticeship standard.

Month 2 (includes Fuctional Skills support where applicable)

The Role of the Professional Coach

Evaluate professional coaching with other methods that support the development of individuals. Define what coaching competencies skills and abilities that a coach needs to have to be effective.

Month 3

The Psychology of Coaching

Evaluate psychological approaches for delivering professional coaching. Outline emotional and social intelligence factors which impact on the delivery of professional coaching.

Month 4

Self-Awareness

Review leadership styles and the impact on individuals and their behaviour, appraise strategies for delivering professional coaching to respond to coachee’s needs, and outline effective theories of increasing self-awareness.

Solution-Focused Coaching

Identify overall goals and establish and build rapport with coachee’s. Review the importance of perceptions and reality in problem identification and decision making – cognitive and emotional factors shaping perception.

Coaching and Feedback Tools

Review models for delivering professional coaching and analyse tools and techniques for delivering
professional coaching. Outline the nature and value of feedback in developing the reflective practitioner as a coach.

Month 7

Quality Communication

Evaluate communication techniques for developing relationships in professional coaching. Assess and evidence own ability to use effective communication techniques including questioning, listening and giving feedback in order to facilitate coaching or mentoring practice.

Month 8

Coaching and Stakeholder Relationships

Evaluate communication techniques for developing relationships in professional coaching. Assess and evidence own ability to use effective communication techniques including questioning, listening and giving feedback in order to facilitate coaching or mentoring practice.

Month 9

Ethical and Inclusive Coaching

Review values, ethics, and principles within the organisations and analyse bias theory and the application of
Personal bias in connection with professional coaching practice. Define how to embed the principles of diversity and inclusion in coaching practice.

Professional Coaching Practice

Assess the power of coaching models in practice and examine feedback provided by peers, reflect, and
evaluate the use.

Review organisation benefits of professional coaching and assess how the impact of coaching can be measured for individuals and organisations. Evaluate and review the business rationale for using coaching to benefit individuals.

Upon completion, you’ll be officially awarded your Level 5 certificate, once you achieve your passing grade at the End-Point Assessment (EPA).

Coaching also provides a solid foundation on which to build a rewarding leadership career path -especially when it comes to encouraging and elevating others.

The Level 5 apprenticeship qualification is the academic equivalent to higher national diploma (HND).

As a learner, nothing at all. As an employer, course costs will be covered by levy funding. If your business is not a levy payer, 95% of course costs will be covered by government. Funding. The remaining 5% of the £5,000 fee works out at just £300. For the value this will add to your team member(s), and the return on that small investment, it is a cost effective way to boost your business as a whole.

Like any higher national diploma, achieving any Level 5 apprenticeship takes work and dedication. However, whether you are a learner or a business, Impact Futures will provide all the resources and support you could ever need. We’ll work alongside you to ensure your success.

The Level 5 Coaching Professional course runs for a total of 17 months. However, you do have the opportunity to finish earlier, depending on your preferred pace of working.

The delivery of the course is a blend of online and in-person learning.
